Ever think about going on a family camping trip? Stop thinking and start doing!
Join the Boy Scouts for the best in New Jersey family fun!
In addition to our recreational activities for children, the Jersey Shore Council offers many opportunities for families to participate in New Jersey shore events and outdoor family activities. Keeping our scouts’ families closely connected to our various functions helps us to develop our scouts into participating citizens of good character.
While it is primarily the responsibility of parents to teach their children, we see ourselves as a unique source in presenting families with new opportunities and building and strengthening relationships among its members. Recognizing this responsibility, the Boy Scouts of America has instituted several family-oriented activities that go beyond family camping excursions.
Our "Family Talk" program, for example, is designed to provide family members with an opportunity to learn and practice relationship skills that will strengthen each individual as well as the family. Another unique initiative is a program where families must complete five requirements (two are mandatory; three are elective) within a 12-month period to earn the “BSA Family Award.”
Contact the Jersey Shore Council today to learn more about the many BSA family-oriented initiatives that help families grow together, and most importantly, have some good old NJ family fun together!
