Boy Scouts to Honor Joe Mezzina for Service to Community, Youth

 

 

(Atlantic County, NJ – Feb. 29, 2008) The Jersey Shore Council, Boy Scouts of America is proud to announce that Joseph Mezzina, local business and community leader, will be honored at the 4th Annual Lighthouse District  “Good Scout Award” Reception on March 18.

 

Joe has a long record of service to the community both in his professional and personal life. Joe is Managing member of Sea Oaks Golf Club, President of Mezzina Real Estate and President of Buon-Vita Homes. He is also CEO of Synatech Environmental Services and Managing Member of Tall Timbers Development Associates. In 1976, Joe was appointed as a Commissioner of the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Utility Authority and since 1977, he has served as Chairman of the Board of the Authority. Over the past 40 years, he has served on various Little Egg Harbor Municipal Boards and Planning Commission Advisory Boards.

 

Joe is a Master Mason with the Grand Lodge of New Jersey and a 32 Degree Mason with the Excelsior Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Southern New Jersey. He is a dedicated supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and is the Chairman of Scottish Rite 32oMasonicLearningCenter, which works with dyslexic children.

 

The Good Scout Labor Award is an annual recognition to an individual or group who has demonstrated the values of the Scout Oath and Law.  These individuals, through life experiences extended to the community in which they serve, have contributed to the betterment of the lives of those in their communities.
