How are the cylinder diameter and height of an integrated prefabricated pump station determined?
The diameter follows from the number of pumps, the maintenance space and the inlet arrangement; the height follows from effective volume, the invert levels of the inlet and outlet pipes and the required cover depth. In practice you first calculate effective volume from design flow and the permitted start/stop frequency, then work back to a diameter using the pump envelope and maintenance access, and finally check deformation under cover and groundwater load cases with FEA.
What is a suitable interception ratio?
The ratio is normally expressed as a multiple of the average dry-weather flow, with n = 1–4 common on combined systems. Too high and a large volume of stormwater is pushed to the treatment plant in wet weather, causing a shock load; too low and first-flush pollution is not intercepted. Verify both the plant capacity and the available storage volume before fixing the ratio.
Can equipment be shipped fully assembled, and what site preparation is needed?
Integrated pump stations, interception wells and pump gates within the usual diameters can all be fully assembled and pressure tested in the factory and shipped as one unit. The site must have the excavation, bedding and lifting access ready with a crane able to work. Once in position, connect the inlet and outlet pipes, power and control cables, then commission with water and the station is ready.
What does after-sales service cover?
Site survey and selection review, installation technical guidance, commissioning and operator training. During the warranty period the equipment and supplied components are handled as agreed in the contract; afterwards we provide inspection advice and spare parts. Operating data can be connected to a remote monitoring platform so anomalies are spotted early.
Can products be customised for non-standard duties?
Yes. Cylinder diameter, depth, inlet and outlet orientation, pump brand and control system can all be adapted to project conditions. For unusual water quality, severe cold or high groundwater we can modify materials and structural solutions and provide the corresponding calculations and verification documents.
